Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bujumbura – Lake Tanganyika
Upon arrival at Bujumbura International Airport, you will be met by your Traford Safaris guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in.
Later, visit the beautiful shores of Lake Tanganyika, one of the world’s deepest freshwater lakes. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon along the white sandy beaches, shaded by palm trees and native vegetation.
Optional activities include swimming, beach walks, and dining at a lakeside restaurant while enjoying sunset views.

Day 2: Teza Tea Plantations – Gitega – Gishora Drum Sanctuary
After breakfast, depart for the scenic highlands to visit the Teza Tea Plantations. Walk through rolling green tea fields and enjoy panoramic mountain views while learning about local tea production.
Continue to Gitega, the political capital of Burundi, and visit the Gitega National Museum, which showcases traditional artifacts, royal regalia, and historical exhibits.
Later, explore the renowned Gishora Drum Sanctuary, home to Burundi’s sacred royal drums. Learn about the historical and spiritual significance of the drums and witness a traditional drumming performance.
